Each year since 2010, JAMM has selected a person(s) who has made a significant contribution to jazz in Mid-Michigan.

CONGRATULATIONS TO MIKE EYIA and LINDA VAIL for being chosen as the 2023 JAMM HONOREES

Mike’s significant contribution to local jazz:

Orquesta Ritmo Band Leader, Lansing’s personal Cuban/Latin-music connection, Founding Member of JAMM, Former Board Member, Volunteer, has played with every single musician in Mid-Michigan, has provided countless hours of great singing, guitar and bongo playing for all us us to dance and be merry!

Linda’s significant contribution to local jazz:

JAMM Photographer, Former Board Member, Volunteer, and, as the Ingham County Health Officer, she advised JAMM on the latest policies to keep all of us jazz cats healthy and safe during Covid–thank you, Linda!

Announcing the 13th Annual JAMM Tribute Honoring Terry Terry

Saturday, April 23, 2022
4-8 pm Urban Beat, Old Town, Lansing

Tickets: 100 tickets at $50 per person will be available April 1st.

Terry earned this honor from JAMM because he has “made a significant contribution to jazz in Mid-Michigan” by founding and sponsoring the annual August Michigan (Lansing ) JazzFest for almost 3 decades and hosting live jazz at MICA Gallery and Urban Beat, and, especially for tirelessly promoting area jazz musicians—young and old.

JAMM is thrilled to have Terry Terry as our 2022 JAMM Honoree.
